The Judah Academy

ATTENDANCE POLICY

 The Judah Academy has a very strict attendance policy. We only allow a minimum of 3 unexcused  absences before we begin to evaluate a student for dismissal from our school. If your child had an appointment (doctor, court) please provide documentation so we can excuse the absence. School starts for all students at 8:00am. If any student enters after 8:15am they are considered late and must sign in at the front desk. No students are permitted to enter after 8:45am. If your child has 3 recurring lateness’ a $30 charge will be added to their account. If your child is sick and will not be in attendance please call the school and let us know.

Dress Down Days

From time to time we will have dress down days. Please refer to the school calendar for scheduled dress down days.

Field Trips and Special Events

Classes are allowed to go on 5 trips during the year.  Teachers will provide parents with information about a trip as soon as it's available.The only organized special events that we will have are for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine's day. Other special events are at the discretion of the teacher. Students may celebrate their birthdays in class but the celebration must be completely coordinated with the teacher and must not interfere with student instruction.

INCLEMENT IN WEATHER

From time to time TJA must close because of an inclement in weather. Whenever NYC public schools are closed for inclement in weather we will also be closed unless otherwise specified. However you may check our website for further information. If there is a school opening delay school will start for all students at 9:05 a.m.
